Yes. Platinum Split condensers can be installed up to 100 feet away from the evaporator, providing flexibility for residential and commercial installations. Depending on the condenser selected, it can be installed outdoors or in approved indoor locations. Separating the condenser from the wine cellar reduces heat and noise while giving contractors and designers greater freedom when planning the installation.  

The Platinum Split Series is designed to maintain the stable temperature conditions required for proper wine storage. While temperature plays an important role in maintaining a healthy cellar environment, the system does not actively control humidity. Humidity levels are influenced by factors such as cellar construction, insulation, vapor barriers, door seals, and the surrounding climate. A properly constructed wine cellar paired with a correctly sized Platinum Split system provides the ideal environment for long-term wine storage and aging.

Unlike traditional thermostats that measure only air temperature, the Platinum Split Series uses a liquid-temperature bottle probe to monitor the temperature of the wine itself. Yes. The optional 24V Thermostat Conversion Kit allows the Platinum Split Series to work with compatible third-party 24V smart thermostats for remote monitoring and control. When this option is selected, the standard WhisperKOOL controller and bottle probe are not included, so you’ll need to provide your own compatible thermostat.
